This time last year, everyone was singing the praises of a surefire Oscar-frontrunner called The Social Network and rightfully so. That masterful film featured strong performances led by Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield, a pitch-perfect sharp script from Aaron Sorkin, and solid direction from David Fincher. But something happened along the way to its Oscar climb… somewhere between its Golden Globe win for Best Drama and the Academy Awards nominations, it lost its mojo. Continue reading
Katie Holmes walks home from the set of “The Extra Man” in Chelsea. With that expression on her face it makes you wonder if she’s seen a ghost…or Tilda Swinton. Continue reading
Tom Cruise waved to fans upon arriving at Late Show with David Letterman the other day. This guy is closer to 50 than I am 40 and I’ll be damned if he doesn’t look younger than me. The media isn’t totally fair to this guy. I dig him. Don’t care saying it. I’d have him over for Christmas dinner if I was throwing it this year. Oh, and if I were Christian.
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are seen leaving their apartment with their daughter Suri and Tom’s children Connor and Isabella last Friday to meet up with the Beckhams. Connor is following his dad’s footsteps starring as a young Will Smith in the upcoming Seven Pounds. Not for nothing but I’ve seen like eleven different trailers for that movie, and I have no friggin clue what that movie is about. One thing’s for sure the human head weighs eight pounds and, oh yeah, bees and dogs can smell fear.
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes leave the final dress rehearsal of All My Sons at the Schoenfeld Theater last night. In this photo it appears they are dancing. They are not dancing. Tom Cruise, on another note, could fit in nicely in the Mad Men cast. Could you imagine him doing a guest spot? He never would but hear this now Mr. Cruise: appear in one or two episodes, pick up an Emmy, and you take that with your hilarious turn in Tropic Thunder, and you’ve got yourself quite a kickass couchless year. Our interview with Constantine ends with a Tom Cruise impression and a song.
Katie Holmes returns to her All My Sons rehearsal after taking a break for lunch. I don’t know how she can wear long sleeves in the summertime. I’d sweat like a pig if I wore her outfit. I’d also be very, very homosexual if I wore that outfit. Those pants would also be way too snug.
Tom Cruise walked his wife Katie Holmes to rehearsal yesterday all the way from their East Village apartment. Later, the whole family met at the Minetta Theater for a family walk. Tom’s great in Tropic Thunder – I still say this guy gets a raw deal.
Last night, Jack Black, Tom Cruise, Matthew McConaughey, Director/Producer/Co-Writer Ben Stiller and Robert Downey Jr. and countless other mega-celebs attended the Los Angeles premiere of Tropic Thunder at the Mann Village Theatre. Tom Cruise has a cameo in the film as a bald, fat movie exec. McConaughey is just super cool and can go wherever he wants. On an unrelated note, the premiere served as a coming out party for Downey Jr. who unveiled a mighty big ‘stache for his forthcoming Sherlock Holmes pic at the premiere. He wears it well.
