Tomorrow your BFF on the interwebs, Plotkin, and TheCheapPop.com head down to Monmouth Raceway at the Jersey Shore to bring you exclusive coverage of the 2010 Vans Warped Tour. Here’s the Web-Toed Wonder himself telling you about it:
There’s a lot to do in Kevin Smith’s hometown of Red Bank. I’m going to focus on the shops today, because that’s what I found pretty darn phenomenal. Obviously as the photo above indicates, the filmmaker’s store is rich in all things Kevin Smith. There’s shirts, hats, and even bumper stickers of his films along with comic books and movie memorabilia. While “Secret Stash” stands out, it’s the other shops that really resonate. There’s an olive oil and vinegar specialty shop on Monmouth Street called Carter & Cavero that will impress your wife or girlfriend (or you if you cook). The Soap Market, also on Monmouth, is another standout with wondrous scents and yes, soaps.
Coco Pari caught my wife’s eye immediately. This high-end clothing store features Valentino – need I say more? Personally, I was more enamored by Jack’s Music Shop on Broad Street – it’s a retro cool music store – a dying breed in a world of Best Buys and FYEs.
