Peter Bjorn & John’s follow-up to “Writer’s Block,” a classic as far as I’m concerned, is a bit of a letdown. As much as I love these guys, the percussion-heavy album “Living Thing” is nifty but not nearly as catchy as its predecessor. While it has some kickass tunes like the first single “Nothing to Worry About” and “Lay it Down,” the entire album features songs with repetitive lyrics and back beats. Don’t hold it against them – the album is still better than most released this year, and while it doesn’t have – say an infectious tune like “Amsterdam” or “Young Folks,” it still serves up some indie pop rock fun.
