A swanky modern decor of a hotel located in downtown Chicago, the Hotel Blake was a memorable lodging experience. Everything about the hotel resonated – well except for the man who served the continental breakfast who was nasty (he didn’t work for the hotel directly though). The spacious room came with just about the comfiest bed I’ve ever laid on in a hotel, a coffee pot, an iPod deck and a flat-screen TV. What made the room, however, were giant windows that showed off the city (although the one facing the public library is better than the gas station I’d imagine). The luxurious bathrooms featured an oversized shower head, deep tub, double sinks, and a huge mirror. The blow dryer wasn’t simply one of those pull-them-from-the-walls old things (ladies you know what I mean right?).
The staff and doormen were friendly, and the location was key. Located near Millennium Park, Buckingham Fountain, and The Art Institute and more, this boutique hotel epitomizes the city’s culture and history.
