Jason Boesel’s debut “Hustler’s Son” drops next week. Get his first single, “Hand of God,” here here now. In a pack of similar singer/songwriters, Boesel easily breaks out.
I’m a big fan of these guys and it’s not just because they have some old dude with a mustache on their album cover. Check out their new song “Safe for the Time Being” here.
If you can get past the fact Peter Doherty is always in the headlines for his self-destructive ways, you can really enjoy his music. I swear. The former Libertine’s latest solo album “Grace/Wasteland” drops March 24. Download a free mp3 of his single “New Love Grows on Trees” here.
“River of Dirt.” It’s a song, and clearly a metaphor for something I can’t comprehend – not on a Tuesday morning anyway. But it’s an amazing single so get it for free here. It’s the latest from Boston singer/songwriter Marissa Nadler. Her fourth solo album will be released on March 3. Enjoy it like a cupcake (if you like cupcakes.)
The Ohio trio Heartless Bastards are back with their third album “The Mountain,” which drops February 3. To download the title track for free, click here. It’s really a nice, almost dreamy track with mandolins, banjos, and strings. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. Just listen.
I’ll be honest. I think Private Practice is melodramatic. My wife loves it, but I find it one step above Grey’s Anatomy in terms of reality storytelling. Anyway, last week’s episode wasn’t half-bad or um, half-good, but one thing that was pretty kick ass was one song that popped up on the show. Lex Land’s “As Much As You Lead” off her debut album Orange Days On Lemon Street was featured in the episode. The Southern California native has a a great sunny sound, and I’d like you to have the song. So click on the pic and listen to it. Hey, at least you don’t have to sit through an episode now.
We all know Brooklyn is the mecca for music talent so it comes as no surprise the latest band that gets us all excited is from there. Have a listen of the School of Seven Bells and marvel at their sound and style. Afterwards, thank me for being cooler than Ichiro Suzuki on rollerskates in the rain. Click the above pic to get a free Robin Guthrie remix of their song “My Cabal.”
Look, I don’t know what the hell they’re saying but they sound so infectious and all ’80′s popness..it’s all good. They’re like a Japanese Devo or something. Anyway click the pic and get their single “Moog is Love” off their new album We Ate the Machine. Tour dates below… Continue reading
TK Webb and the Visions’ Ancestor hits stores today. Why don’t you buy it? OK, you’re saving up money for a Wii Fit? No worries. Click here for a free download of their song “Teen is Still Shaking.” Enjoy, popsters.
We told you all about Alex Woodard earlier this week. Scroll back, fool. In any event, the singer/songwriter has done us a solid by writing a song for thecheappop.com. That’s right – the site now has a theme song. Last time I checked the other sites don’t have that. Click here to listen to the exclusive “moustaches”.
It is the best song ever. Look for the accompanying video next week!
