First time at Terminal 5 this year and I am glad to be back! All ages arrived (even a baby) for a sold out show on a Friday night! Sure was interesting as many teenagers with X’s on their hands filled the room with parents on the sidelines but as the night progressed the place sure got drunk, hot and sweaty!
Grouplove came out in front of a nice hipster vibed crowd who knew each lyrics to each of their songs. Pure ovation by everyone as their song ”Tongue Tied” made famous on the apple ad. This song gave me those nice goosebumps you get when you hear a good singer on american idol! Well it was that moment I am sure everyone felt the same where everyone sang the lyrics and jumped up in unison with their iphones. Nice apple ad i bet that would make.
On to next the next band and as I couldn’t help myself in doing some video I caught the intro as “Young the Giant” came on to the stage. A loud ecstatic crowd screamed together when lead singer “Sameer Gadhia” belted out the words “NEW YORK CITY! Opening with the song “I Got” which is one of my favorite songs, Sameer’s voice never seemed to crack and with his two trusty mics he surely belted out each lyric with such subtle tone that echoed but with a crazy seizure like dance with each beat. His dancing is a fun thing to watch and as a photographer oh how hard it is to capture but you be the judge when you see my photography down below. The crowd all came together as i watched on the sidelines recording “cough syrup”, each fan knew every word where Sameer even points the mic to the fans. It definitely was worth the wait to see this band up close and watching them the first time live since Jones Beach last summer. Young the Giant is a band that has a great future ahead of them. Cheers to you guys and you may need some cough syrup after that nice set of singing!
Enjoy the pics and videos everyone!
