It’s almost time! Warped Tour 2011 is right around the corner, and Kevin Lyman & Co. held a a band-tastic party Friday at one of the newest additions to the thriving neighborhood of Greenpoint: The House of Vans.
The 24,000 sq. ft concert venue/skate park was both of those and more that night. The night’s aural pleasure was provided by Lionize, Moving Mountains, MC Lars, and The Wonder Years (Fred Savage not included), all bands will be on the tour this summer.
There were complimentary alcoholic libations (cans of PBR fit right in with the mostly skate-type crowd, while the more distinguishly-dressed partygoers seemed to be subscribe to that ancient Latin saying, “In Vino Veritas”). Indoors you could absorb the alcohol with a variety of brought-to-you-on-a-silver-platter treats (Chicken Parm Sliders? YES PLEASE!), while outdoors was a taco truck, a pizza truck, and, perhaps the greatest thing ever, WAFFLE ON A STICK! At the end of the party, a video package announced that headlinging the tour this summer will be A Day to Remember, 3OH!3, Against Me, Asking Alexandria, Attack Attack!, August Burns Red, Gym Class Heroes, and The Devil Wears Prada.
Check out the videos of the press conference below, where Kevin Lyman talked about coordinating with all the non-profit organization involved in this year’s tour, the ways in which Vans has cut costs, and much much more.
