1) Buzz Aldrin may not be able to dance..but is still a class act.
2) Just by bringing Charo in to help out should automatically save any contestant from the Bottom Two.
3) Kate Gosselin is becoming my worst nightmare
America has spoken..and figured that Buzz Aldrin would be better off being eliminated from the competition after another below tepid week. You got to give the man credit, at 81 he still believes anything is possible..the space program and senior citizens doing whatever they want being high on his list. Telling the story through dance of a war homecoming in a Waltz made him and Ashly look regal and innocent;but again, the movement was far from charming (13/30). Season 10 marches on, even bringing back Joey Fatone and Melissa Rycroft for a Viewer’s Choice Design-a-Dance for the finale; redeeming Mark Ballas musically after a smoldering acoustic guitar performance with Derek and Chelsie performing a traditional Paso Doble; and Niecy Nash attempting to change the world one doughnut at a time..
Aiden/Edyta (Quickstep): It was revealed that following last week’s show; the Brit became ill and realized how dangerous it can be being in the Bottom Two;even if he wasn’t. His 150% committment to Edyta and the competition showed in a confidence-growing routine that showed he was happy as a clam, but still needed to break free and not be as cautious. Perhaps a birthday visit from his wife and baby daughter made the difference…(20/30).
Niecy/Louis (Waltz): Another emotionally charged dance for the comedienne who shows her vulneralbility and wears her heart on her sleeve. As she and Louis played a couple who in the 1960′s could not be together due to race; it broke both of their hearts knowing that how far things have come but still being told who they could not be with for whatever reason. It was bittersweet, political, and while her technique still needed polishing;she pulled it off. (21/30).
Evan/Anna (Quickstep):Not even broken toes could stop the Olympian from delivering another solid and strong performance. Earning the encore this week, the duo’s dance was full of finesse and euphoria. Now if he can just work on his feet..which has become the bain of Len’s existence this season…(26/30).
Jake/Chelsie (Quickstep): The pressure is on for The Bachelor;and with the competition as tight as it is;the posture still needs to be worked on and while a difficult dance; it was a strong value in the production. And yet..they duo was under the red light at the end with Buzz/Ashly… (21/30).
Nicole/Derek (Quickstep): Being blown away by their scores last week started to take a toll on Nicole,as she is pressuring herself to beat her own expectations. What happened instead, was a violation of several of The Len Comandments (shtick,no holds;a load of vaudeville) as well as a lift. Bruno pointed out that it was an incredible performance;but still the same..(23/30).
Erin/Maks (Waltz): After this past week, Erin needed to trust her pro more now than ever. So why not be blindfolded during her routine? The prop definitely added dimension after what Len called a boring start;but it is disturbing to get bondage tips from Bruno..It was a fearless and daring routine..(23/30).
Chad/Cheryl (Paso Doble): Just what is going on with these two is anyone’s guess this season. After a humbling week, Chad’s strive for perfectionism returned with a vengenance with a powerful Paso Doble that was focused and sharp. His posture is still an issue, but whatever it takes for him to win this may be working….(20/30).
Pam/Damian (Paso Doble): A surprise visit to The Bottom Two left Pam nervous and sad; but she quickly was forgiven after an artsitic Paso that she used to her advantage. With the help of Charo (yes, THAT Charo); Pam continued her run as Season 10′s Audience Favorite. There is something under that bombshell exterior..and everyone seems to be waiting for it..(21/30).
Kate/Tony (Paso Doble): Wow..where to begin with this? Ok. we know she is a constant focus of the paparazzi;we know she has a reputation; and not even the help of a drama coach could help her with the odd and hard to watch a dance that showed no intensity. So she played The Superbitch From Hell perfectly..it was still disjointed and way too pedestrian. And to quote a friend of mine..just what was up with The Stork with Anxiety Issues look????? (15/30).
Final Four Predictions:
(dark horse) AIden/Edyta
