Jon Chattman, co-author of the recently released humor book, SWEET ‘STACHE: 50 Badass Mustaches and the Faces Who Sport Them, has thrown down the gauntlet and announced Westchester’s First Annual ‘Stache-Off to be held September 12 from 6-9PM at the Music Conservatory of Westchester in White Plains. Enter now via email!
A SWEET ‘STACHE book signing and performances from some of the Music Conservatory of Westchester’s ensembles and faculty (Nakia Verner and Irena Portenko to name two) will precede the countywide mustache contest.
Open to all mustaches of Westchester, ‘Stache-Off features prizes from Movember.com, Sam Ash, TheCheapPop.com, and many more to be named. Partial proceeds from the contest will benefit the Conservatory’s scholarships and tuition assistance. Entry fee is $20 to attend the event – includes entrance into contest and a signed copy of the book.
“Westchester County is known for a variety of scenic treasures, but the best of all is the face scenery on county men who sport ravishing push brooms from the Hudson to the Sound to all around,” Chattman explained.
“This event hopes to put the spotlight on those who have sweet staches and those people who love a man with a good stache.”
Led by a foreword from former mustachioed icon John Oates (of Hall & Oates) and illustrations from porkchop-sideburned artist Brett Underhill, SWEET ‘STACHE features ‘stache-analysis for forty-nine men and one woman (we can’t forget Frida Kahlo!) who made the cut of top pushbrooms.
Complete with ‘stache trivia and celebrity insight from the likes of Paul Rudd, Michael Cera, and Artie Lange, the book was profiled recently by the National Enquirer, USA Today, among others, and is a reader’s guide to getting in on the mustache action.
