Confessions of a Cougar: Michael Cera

By Lisa Cannavo | October 2nd, 2008

Cougars of the world, unite! How could one not find this seemingly nice guy from Canada (the ultimate destination spot to meet men) utterly adorable? The MySpace push on Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist is making Friday’s release out to be the romantic comedy of the Fall movie season. From his role as George in Arrested Development to Bleeker (no, not Bunsen Honeydew’s assistant!) in the Oscar-worthy Juno, Michael has gone from supporting character to lead without having to lose his identity along the way. (Read Jon’s interview with him pre-Superbad and be delighted to see how down-to-earth he is). Not bad for a 20 year old whose early start was playing Brother Bear on the animated show The Berenstein Bears.  2009 looks just as promising for Michael, with the Arrested Development movie rumored and the lead role in the action romance Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.  His other pet project is the indie band The Long Goodbye.  What’s there not to love, I ask you? Michael, if you read this, you can make me a CD mix anytime!
