Gene Shalit not only makes a furry handlebar mustache look cool, but he’s actually the only person I know who can pull off a bowtie and white guy afro. The celebrated movie critic (who’s mustache is celebrated in The Book of ‘Bert’) turns 76 today. We’d like to take time to salute this cartoonish master of the puns, and wish him a cinematic birthday whatever that means.
